Adobe InContext Editing
So a colleague of mine is using the new Adobe Creative Suite and let me tell you, it looks pretty sweet. I’m not much of a developer or a designer, but I can appreciate the improvements that have been made in the new Dreamweaver and Photoshop – two programs I use daily but am by far an expert with. In any case, one of the best features I think the new CS incorporates is InContext Editing.
Contribute was a pretty decent way to grant those people without extensive HTML knowledge the ability to update a website. It worked fairly well, but it was dropped on the last version Creative Suite. Now, however, it has been incorporated into Dreamweaver and takes the form of web based editing. Any website with InContext editing set up can be edited by almost anyone with a computer. For design firms that have spent tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars developing custom content management systems for their clients, beware. This is definitely a game changer…
For the small business owners out there that have websites but don’t have the ability or knowledge to update them, get in touch with StickyPages – we can definitely get you on the road to simple, quick web updates!
